Кратко о яхте Голубой Марлин

В Центре Деревянного Судостроения Вам обязательно необходимо увидеть классическую гоночную яхту класса 12mR, принадлежащую Хенрику Андерсину (Henrik Andersin). Имя этой яхты - Голубой Марлин, и сейчас на ней проводится полный цикл восстановительных работ. Гоночный класс 12mR знаменит тем, что именно в этом классе проводились гонки за Кубок Америки с 1958 по 1988 год.

Яхта была спроектирована и построена в 1930-х годах знаменитым английским конструктором Чарльзом И. Николсоном (Charles E. Nicholson) для Marion B. Carstairs of Bermuda. Длинна яхты - более 21 метра, и полное восстановление внешнего облика и интерьеров займет около трёх лет. Цель заключается в принятии участия в чемпионате мира в классе 12mR в 2011 году, намеченном к проведению в Хельсинки.

We would like to share the enjoyment of restoring this classic yacht with you. On this site you will be able to follow how the renovation of the 12 Metre Yacht "Blue Marlin" is developing. It is a project of great size and effort, and we have estimated the work to continue into the year 2010. We are not trying to make it into a modern yacht. We are rebuilding Blue Marlin to her original specifications and materials. The work will be carried out by Red Sky Yachts, shipwrights in Kotka, Finland who have extensive knowledge of metre yacht renovations.

Much off the work will be documented into small films. These will be downloadable and posted on the site as the work continues. I hope you will be induced to use our example to renovate your classic yacht. This is the right way to do it.
